Active learning

This program involves the use of many learning materials which enables the child to work independently.  Learning is made more efficient and enjoyable with a low teacher-to-student ratio.

Given developmentally appropriate materials and the freedom to follow their own interest, children have a natural and joyful instinct to teach themselves.  Your child will learn about other cultures, animals, and plants in addition to reading, language, and mathematical skills.

Here are examples of our Active Learning programs:

Peace Education

Helps children to be aware of interconnectedness and interdependence of all life by providing them with the tools to interact from a position of respect, understanding and cooperation.  They are introduced to the culture of peace.

Grateful Leaving

Promotes a natural sense of gratitude among children-that they should thankful for what they have and to know the value of expressing their gratitude.

Sports Day

Aims not only to aid the child’s physical development, but also his or her social and emotional growth as the child learns to strategize, compete and work in teams as well as treat other children with respect.

Building Language For Literacy

Equips young minds with the critical language and literacy skills and experiences they need to build the foundation for success in reading.  Also fosters multicultural awareness and understanding through activities that are built upon the child’s home and community experiences.

Appleseed Montessori Summer Enrichment Program 2020

April 1-3, 6-30 until May 29, 2020

This summer, Appleseed Montessori is launching the Transition Term. This Term will serve as a chance for returning students to continue to develop skills in the various subject areas that will allow them to strengthen their understanding of concepts. Lessons in Reading and Language, Math, Cultural Studies (for Primary students) and Practical Life and Sensorial will be included. For existing Appleseed Montessori students, the activities they will be given will be a continuation of the lessons the children were able to complete during the Third Term of the regular School Year. This will be a 3-hour program from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM-12:00 NN. During this time, new students who are interested in signing up will get a chance to adjust to being in school and start preparing for the new year.

Part of the Transition Term will also be Summer Program themes with classes held in the afternoon. Two themes will be offered per week and parents may choose to sign up for one or both themes. Afternoon summer sessions will be for 1 to 2 hours depending on what you wish to sign up for. Enrolment for afternoon sessions may be done on a weekly basis.

For students who are moving up from the Toddler to the Primary Program, the Transition Term will serve as a bridge by giving them a chance to review necessary lessons in order to successfully move on to new topics appropriate for their age before the regular School Year starts in June. After a short break beginning March 21, the new term will start on April 1, 2020. The additional term will run for 8 weeks and parents may sign up for the 3-hour program, afternoon summer sessions or both. The Transition Term is optional.

Transition Term Fee: P57, 000

Schedule: 9:00 am – 12:00 nn
*The enrollment and reservation period for the Transition Term will start on January 13, 2020.
